Belle of Louisville Cruises & Events

Belle of Louisville - Louisville, Kentucky

The Steamer Belle of Louisville, a National Historic Landmark and The Riverboat Spirit of Jefferson serve as the western anchor of Louisville's award winning Waterfront Park in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. With the playing of her calliope, the Belle, now in her 95th year, continues to beckon one and all to join her on a journey back to the time when she carried passengers and goods to ports all along the beautiful Ohio River. The majestic Ohio River, the major link between the bustling cities of the East Coast and the mighty Mississippi River, was greatly instrumental in shaping the future of the city of Louisville and to this day still captures the imagination of all who visit.

The Belle of Louisville and Spirit of Jefferson are perfect charter venues for Weddings, Corporate Events, Family & Military Reunions, Proms and much more! Our vessels also host celebrations for some of the region's most distinctive events including: Thunder Over Louisville, The Great Steamboat Race, The Kentucky Oaks and The Kentucky Derby.

Our sales staff is here daily to assist you with reservations, gift certificates, private charters, group tours, weddings and other special events.

Belle of Louisville's New Interpretive Exhibit
Wins Two Kentucky Historical Society Awards

Louisville, KY:   In Spring 2008, the Belle of Louisville opened a new interpretive center depicting the three lives of the Belle, along with signage identifying the historic features still in operation on the steamship.   The Belle's History Committee spent a full year compiling photos and verbiage for the exhibits.

On March 7, 2009, Linda Harris, Belle CEO, and Kadie Engstrom, Belle Education Director, went to  Frankfort to accept two Kentucky Historical Society awards for the Belle exhibit.  The first was an Award of Merit from the "Education Program for the Public" category, and the second was a Certificate of Commendation from the "Museum Exhibition" category.

The Belle of Louisville will begin her regular season at the end of May and will run through the end of October.  The interpretive exhibit is a permanent fixture on the Belle and open for all passengers to explore during cruises.  The Belle's website (http://www.belleoflouisville.org/) lists all available cruises.
